Our team is trained extensively in reading body language to identify when a dog is tired, stressed, or wanting to exit an area. We take the time needed for slow integrations—this can take weeks for nervous dogs. We’re set up to provide one-on-one enrichment activities and gradual introductions to group play.
We work with dogs that may have been turned away elsewhere. We have the setup and staffing to take the time needed for slow, careful introductions. This might involve short bursts of group play combined with solo time and one-on-one enrichment activities until the dog builds confidence.
We have a multi-step protocol. For urgent but non-emergency situations, we’ll take your pet to their own vet when possible. However, since many clients travel to us and Vancouver vets are very busy, we’re also affiliated with an emergency vet at each location that we can reach immediately when needed.
Our pet specialists complete our comprehensive in-house training program called “Dog Force U,” hosted on the Thinkific platform. The program covers dog behavior (developed with Annika McDade from Canine Connections), anxiety and stress relief (created with a local veterinarian), and first aid training (developed with Lisa from Walks and Wags). It also includes operational procedures and focuses on body language reading and confidence building for group play situations.
Absolutely. We conduct criminal background checks on all hires, which is uncommon in the pet care industry.
Yes! Our client mobile app features a photo timeline with push notifications. When we tag your pet in a photo, you’ll receive a notification on your phone to view it. The app also sends vaccine reminder notifications and birthday celebration alerts.
Our full day of daycare is 10 hours, not 8 hours like many competitors. We understand you work 8-hour shifts, so we don’t expect you to cut your workday short for drop-off or pick-up.
No, we’re completely crate-free. We have brick-and-mortar private suites for downtime instead. Putting dogs in crates with full vision of what’s happening outside causes stress and anxiety. Our suites provide proper rest without the stress, and we rotate dogs through for 15-30 minute rest periods when needed.
