Growing up with cats and dogs fostered Kate’s love of animals. Excited to expand her knowledge and pursue her passion for animals while making some life long furry friends, Kate is thrilled to be working at Jet Pet. She currently lives with her two cats and golden retriever.
Sydney’s love for animals started at an early age. From having dogs, birds, rabbits and bearded dragons, she has always had pets in her life. She started volunteering at JetPet in 2015, fell in love with the job, and now works part-time. After high school, Sydney plans to continue working with animals. In her spare time, Sydney enjoys taking her Bluetick Coonhound, Max, and her Pointer, Dexter, on long walks and to dog parks to socialize with other dogs. Her favourite part of working at JetPet is getting to spend all day taking care of and hanging out with dogs and cats!
Lisa’s most rewarding experience to date was caring for the dogs at the Vancouver Animal Control Shelter where she volunteered as a dog walker and puppy playmate, taking her job to provide them with emotional support and compassion seriously. Ready to play and have fun rain or shine, Lisa is excited to join Jet Pet and get to know their furry clientele (and human too!). She has been a devoted pet parent herself over the years, and currently lives with Peter the rabbit.
Nikita’s favourite childhood memories are the ones where she was surrounded by animals. Growing up with two dogs, eight tortoises, a parrot and fish as part of the household, a passion for working with animals was a natural progression and Nikita joined a private rescue team in India for dogs and cats. Now, as part of the Jet Pet team, she’s thrilled for the opportunity to connect with the beautiful four-legged souls that we care for on a daily basis.
Abbie grew up with dogs, instilling a desire to work with animals. Volunteering at the local dog shelter with mistreated and sick dogs taught Abbie the difference in breed personalities and how to care for each one’s unique needs. Abbie currently has three dogs and a cat; her furry best friends to keep company with when she’s not caring for the pet clients at Jet Pet, whom she loves like her own.
What started out as a dream to go into animal research turned into a career in animal welfare with her sights set on becoming a vet tech one day. A life-long animal lover, Dominique’s pets include fish and mice, and spends her spare time when she’s not making the lives of Jet Pet clients a little brighter volunteering at the BC SPCA.
Bruna grew up an animal lover. There was usually a cat or dog around to call family and when she moved from her native Brazil to Canada, Bruna discovered that working at Jet Pet would ensure she always had dogs around to give her attention and love to; ensuring every four-legged guest receives the best possible care.
Dogs were always a part of Jen’s life growing up. Whenever asked what her dream job would be, it was always the same answer: “Working with animals.” Her favourite part is learning about all the different breed personalities. Jen is thrilled that dreams are reality working at Jet Pet Olympic Village with their fantastic team, and most importantly, the furry pet guests she loves so much.
Hailing from Richmond, Amanda was born and raised around dogs. When she’s not spending time with her dogs Rainee, Ziggy, and Luna—her love, life, pride and joy who sparked her passion for helping animals—Amanda’s volunteering at numerous shelters around the Lower Mainland. To her, there’s nothing better than snuggling up with her fur babies after a long day caring for her beloved Jet Pet clients, and soaking in all the love and affection animals give.
The one constant in Courtney’s life growing up around Texas and across Canada has always been dogs. As a vet assistant, seeing her favourite furry friends in pain wasn’t ideal, and Courtney made a life-changing move to become a dog walker with Release the Hounds. She relished the life of fitness and dog slobber, until a major concussion sidelined her. Now, healed and at home on the Jet Pet YVR team, Courtney is thrilled to be sharing her experience and knowledge with the animals she loves.
Really amazing people working here. I’ve never seen my little guy run to people like that. They really took the time to get to know him and they always take super good care of him.
